The Wenbly shadow

Can anybody tell me what happened in this afternoons match ( I know Chelsea won) but it would have been nice to see how they did it without having to continually screw up my eyes to try and make out what was happening in the dark!!!. Surely the floodlights could have been powered up to boost the lighting, the t.v cameras just couldn't cope with the contrast, it's just not good enough for such coverage on a world stage.

The strange thing about the shadow, is that when Wembley was built, the architect, Lord Foster claimed that it had been designed in such a way that none of the pitch would be in shadow! What happened to that claim?
