I feel that after about 9 minutes tonight, United thought "oh this is going to be easy, but we must make it interesting, give them a goal, & "we" could get it back as usual. But Barca given the opportunity will just play keep ball. United chased the game but couldn't do it again, you cannot give teams like Barca an inch - thery'll take mile. Once in front, that was it, wasn't it!
Who played well tonight? no-one really, after the first 10 min
For me personally it makes little diffeence who wins the SPL although it's certain United will get them in the CL next season, who ever it is!
I have a soft spot for Celtic because of a mate who used to have a season ticket there so if I'm pushed I'd want Celtic to do it.
Cradle, I was not attacking Arsenal or questioning Wenger. I ewas supporting them. Hence my comments on Wengers annual acts of genius. Read my posts again.
I was attacking their board. Wenger has been left high and dry? Have you not read the minutes of that meeting? Have you not been made aware of how these fans questioned his judgement, transfer policy and then the board, Hill-Wood aside, sat back and let him take all the flack without so much as standing up for
I think the people who've been casting doubt on Wenger's methods ought to be banned from Arsenal for life and locked up in an asylum.
Lets get one thing straight: Arsenal football club is under no obligation to deliver titles in the short term. There is no rule saying that if we fail to win a trophy for four years we are suddenly a failure as a football club or that the business model ought to change.
It's pathetic, the short-sightedness of a great many members of th
Slightly mis-leading. Liverpool and United have recouped a lot of money back on other transfers, although Chelsea are comfortably the biggest spenders with those kind of figures.
Over the last 5 years I think United's NET spend is something like £89m according to that website, is it not? Whilst Liverpools is something like £117m and Arsenal's is something ridiculous like £20m-odd?
What it does show is that for all Rafa's complaining a
Robbso, when you put it like that it doesn't sound so unbelievable?
United could very well hammer Hull and Villa are likely to beat Newcastle so all may not be lost.
At the same time, United could well play a team of kids and end up giving Hull the points they need to stay up......
Afternoon all
Firstly, apologies if anyone followed my weekend treble idea think I got one out of three. Utterly shocking!
As for Boro, think they could get something at West Ham who have nothing to play for but reckon it will be too late. Can't see Hull getting anything against United but neither will Newcastle get a point against Villa. Bottom three - WBA, Boro & Newcastle
But this is ridiculous.
Apparently this is a table of what the Premier league clubs have spent (net) over the last five years.
Boro have spent more than us
Chelsea —£352,940,000
Liverpool —£202,445,000
Man United &mdas
If we started giving dedicted boards to minor leagues like the SPL then pretty soon we'd have to give the Welsh a seperate board, then the Irish, the Northern Irish, the Cornish and the Manx would all get one.
I don't want this forum to be flooded with Welsh, Irish, Cornish and Manxmen, there are enough Man United fans here as it is.
Hi all
I've recently been put in charge of this forum so wanted to introduce myself and open up a dialogue with our (admittedly small number of) members to see how we can improve this place.
I've been monitoring the forum for a few days and it's obvious there are a number of issues you have and I'll try to deal with them here.
Firstly, the reason you were moved over from the previous 365 forum was because ITV has terminated their agreement with 365 and now produce their w
Wouldn't have been seen in Manchester by any chance Harry?
Has anyone else noticed how anti Man United Jim Beglin is during his champions league commentary. The sooner he is replaced the better.
As much as the ITC commentary team hate Manchester Utd could they not mention the marvellous way Park recovered to score and the brilliant free kick from Ronaldo? And no guys: it was a free kick, Ronaldo did make the most of it but it was def. a free kick.
Following on from the biased commentary during the Chelski v Liverpool game am I the only one getting a bit of deja vu? I've hardly heard a positive word about United tonight and we're winning 2-0 at half time at the Emirates. Apparently only Arsenal know how to pass and move!!
I am a Newcastle United fan so the competition is rarely a chance for my team to do well, but nevertheless, I love the famous old trophy and the competition itself. There is this aura about it. The oldest football tournament in the world going back to the 1871-2 season when Wanderers won it.
I love the drama, the David vs Goliath encounters, the heroes and the villains. It has romance, drama and excitement and there is always a great story or two every year.
This year I am happy to see Everto
BIAS? On the football map of Britian in Manchester there's a flag for United but no City? There's a flag for Liverpool but not for Everton?
Will they ever get live football coveridge right? ie Merseyside derby in the FACup, if it had been L'pool atacking and about to score would they have gone to add break? And with the cutbacks, will there be any live matches
Is it just me or are most united fans proper frustrated watching them? I can't put my finger on why or what is going on. I find it difficult to understand why we struggle to find that final ball, there is no killer instinct or cutting edge. The way they are going we'll struggle to achieve what they did last year. I really do hope to be eating humble pie sometime soon but i doubt it. What's your thoughts?
