I agree with the 3rd eye being needed. The penalty, well we've both got our opinions. We will need to see what the ref will say, if he will say anything.

  • What went wrong?

    • From: topumpire1

I feel that after about 9 minutes tonight, United thought "oh this is going to be easy, but  we must make it interesting, give them a goal, & "we" could get it back as usual.  But Barca given the opportunity will just play keep ball.  United chased the game but couldn't do it again, you cannot give teams like Barca an inch - thery'll take mile.  Once in front, that was it, wasn't it!

Who played well tonight? no-one really, after the first 10 min

STEVE Gibson has slashed the Boro's debt to make the club more financially sound in an unknown future.

The Boro chairman has reduced the club’s overall debts from around £93m to well under £30m.

The new figures have not been officially released, but will appear in the club’s next annual balance sheet.

Gibson, who is backing manager Gareth Southgate to lead the Boro fightback this summer following relegation, finally decided to call time on the ever spiralling deb

Cradle, I was not attacking Arsenal or questioning Wenger. I ewas supporting them. Hence my comments on Wengers annual acts of genius. Read my posts again.

I was attacking their board. Wenger has been left high and dry? Have you not read the minutes of that meeting? Have you not been made aware of how these fans questioned his judgement, transfer policy and then the board, Hill-Wood aside, sat back and let him take all the flack without so much as standing up for

Robbso, when you put it like that it doesn't sound so unbelievable?

United could very well hammer Hull and Villa are likely to beat Newcastle so all may not be lost.

At the same time, United could well play a team of kids and end up giving Hull the points they need to stay up......

I suspect that might happen. When Chelsea got bought out by Roman replica Chelsea shirts started turning up everywhere. I've also noticed that some City shirts are doing the rounds as well, on people that I've never noticed supporting them before.

Arsenal shirts started doing the rounds abvout 5 years ago when there was all that (admittedly deserved) furore about them playing the best football in the world.

Saying that, I'm not sure how many people would go as low as 'Boro......

  • The Magic of the FA Cup

    • From: davebond21
    • Description:

I am a Newcastle United fan so the competition is rarely a chance for my team to do well, but nevertheless, I love the famous old trophy and the competition itself. There is this aura about it. The oldest football tournament in the world going back to the 1871-2 season when Wanderers won it.

I love the drama, the David vs Goliath encounters, the heroes and the villains. It has romance, drama and excitement and there is always a great story or two every year.

This year I am happy to see Everto

Clearly an amazing game of football, especially for the neutrals and obviously the chelsea fans, but i have never witnessed such a biased commentary. Every reference was made towards how amazing Liverpool were, how well they done in Istanbul, and could they do it with out the amazing Gerard. No mention of Hiddinks substitution at 2-0 down, chelseas 5th semi in 6 years, or of course the fact they were playing without the mildly average John Terry!!!!! ITV learn a lesson and dont put an ex Liverpool player

    • From: lol_ffc

When they started up the Champions, making sure there were many money making yet tedious games to come before the juicy ones, the KNOCKOUT games, along came irony. The European Cup sounds a welcome to all Competition, whereas the Champions League seemed to define.....CHampions. Hmmm, thats a bit confusing aint it?

So along comes UEFA, "hey big boys you can have TWO teams in the Champions League."

Yes, the competition is alive and well, especially following last season's shocks and Cardiff's romantic journey to the final. The fact that the showpiece game is back at Wembley Stadium, its traditional home, also helps matters.

I hope ITV will do a good job of covering the competition this year and beyond.

Yes, I think that last season's shocks helped to elevate the prestige of the FA Cup once more.

Also with the new Wembley Stadium, the final is back at its traditional home.
